Primary Convention 2008 - Maths for Tomorrow’s Leaders
The 18th annual Primary Mathematics Convention will provide teachers with the opportunity to engage in quality professional development and to interact with a range of experienced Mathematics educators and classroom teachers.
Theme: Maths for Tomorrow’s Leaders
Our future leaders need more than sound academic achievement in mathematics, they need to be adaptable, resourceful and quick to learn. They need to be technologically competent and adept at seeking out and using information to solve problems. They need to be able to think things through and show initiative, not wait for direction. (Director General’s Classroom First Strategy, DET.) At this conference you will hear educators in our school systems sharing their plans, knowledge and experiences as they prepare our students mathematically for a rapidly changing world.
