Heads of Learning Area Forum

In recent years we have run a highly successful HOLA’s forum on the Wednesday after the Secondary Convention. We do so again this year with the intention of having a strong, practical focus on the coming year and the task of leading staff towards the introduction of the new Mathematics Courses of Study.

This forum will provide you with the opportunity to network with other HOLA’s, contribute to the planning of a coordinated, collaborative approach to the process of preparing teachers, engage in quality professional development, examine course documentation to tease out the variety of issues we, as leaders, are going to face and to interact with a range of experienced Mathematics educators.

The forum will be held at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle. The day will begin with a keynote address from Merrilyn Goos. Representatives from MAWA, DET, Catholic Education, AISWA and the Curriculum Council will be present for the day in order to collaboratively plan an approach to 2007 that will best meet your needs and ensure our teachers are well prepared for the changes in 2008.
