National Mathematics Talent Quest

Every year MAWA organizes a Mathematics Talent Quest for students in all years to encourage them to complete a project which is not curriculum based, but which allows them to see Mathematics at work in unexpected and everyday situations.

2 topics are set for each year group, and students work on their projects in terms 1 and 2. Each participant school selects their best projects for State judging in August, and after the State prize giving in September, MAWA chooses some projects to go forward to the National Talent Quest.

In the past, WA students have often been successful at the National level, and 2008 was no exception, with the following winning awards.
