Happy New Year!

MAWA has a great year of student and professional development activities for 2008 so don't miss out.

MAWA Staff News

We've been lucky, since March 2004, to have Annette Polglaze work in the office one day a week. We are now delighted to announce that Annette accepted the half-time position made vacant when Liana left in August 2007. Please congratulate her when you next speak to her or see her.

In December 2007, Louisa Kennard replaced Annette in the day-a-week role. Louisa is currently studying to be a primary teacher and we are excited and pleased to have her as part of the team. Please welcome her when you speak to her or meet her.

Graduate Certificate

In 2008, Edith Cowan University is offering graduate certificates in teaching science (years 8-10), maths (years 8-10) or physics (years 11 and 12) for teachers who wish to change field and teach in these areas. The courses are available for part-time study by flexible delivery that will suit teachers based in metro or country locations. For more information and to find out whether there are still places available in 2008, please contact Mark Hackling on m.hackling@ecu.edu.au or Vaille Dawson on v.dawson@ecu.edu.au (DET school teachers may apply for a $20,000 scholarship.)

Library FREE books!

First-come, first-served...
...duplicates from the MAWA library. Our thanks to Sheila Byfield for logging and extracting them.

If you'd like any of the books, please contact the MAWA office to ensure they’re still available.
