Have Sum Fun Competition - Primary (Years 5-7) 2009

The Have Sum Fun Primary Mathematics Competition uses a 'quiz night' format where teams of six students have to solve four rounds of eight problems.

Date

Saturday 4 April 2009 at 3:00 pm. (Expected finish time 5:30 pm.)

Where

Two venues will be available:

• Metro - St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls
• Bunbury Region - Bunbury Catholic College

Format

The students will work together in groups of six to answer problem-solving questions. The students will be given a series of questions (as in a 'quiz night') to complete within a set time limit.

Registration

• Schools are invited to nominate a maximum of two (2) teams of six students consisting of two students from each of years 5, 6 and 7. (If there are not enough students available in a year, then students from lower years can be substituted, eg Year 5s or 6s can be substituted for Year 7s.)
• Initially, one team will be registered and if there are sufficient places available after the closing date, a second team will be registered on a "first-in, first-served" basis. Schools will be informed if their second team has a place.
• Please register early as places are limited.
• Fax registration form to MAWA office by Friday 20 March.
• Confirmation of team placement will be emailed to the school by Wednesday 25 March.
• If you have registered a second team you will be informed whether this team has a place by Wednesday 25 March.

Payment Details

Please forward $44 per team (includes 10% GST) to Mawa by Friday 27 March 2009.
