2009 Professional Development Series

The Series

A set of four workshops to be conducted for those teachers of lower secondary Mathematics who do not have Mathematics training or qualifi cations, to expand their professional knowledge and capabilities.

Each workshop will be held in both a North of the River venue and a South of the River venue. So choose your most convenient venue.

The workshops will loosely follow the structure of a teaching and learning lesson or set of lessons. Drawing on the presenter's experience in many locations and over many years, of what worked for him and what he sees works for others.

The focus is not on teaching mathematics content, but on how to present content to

best engage students as learners and how to enthuse learning of Mathematics.
